Welcome to Travel Solutions’ very first blog! I’m very excited to get things up and running. Travel Solutions started with me taking a class to become a travel agent over 10 years ago. My first experience with booking travel came from working as an Executive Assistant for a Vice-President at a Fortune 500 company. Because our company had a contract with a global organization, the Vice-President was required to travel to several of the locations overseas. The first business trip I booked for him was to Shanghai, China. At the time, I knew nothing about passports, visas, different time zones or how to even make an international call. Everything I learned, I learned on the job and I had to learn it quickly. It was exciting and scary at the same time. There were times I had to schedule a conference call with one person in Michigan, one in Chicago, one in Brazil and the other in India. Trying to find the perfect time for everyone was a challenge but I made it work. Once I got the hang of booking international travel, I loved it. I ended up leaving the job because my family relocated to another state, but my love for being a travel agent continued.
